"Tron: Legacy" and "Oblivion" director Joseph Kosinski is teaming with "Pacific Rim" writer Travis Beacham for the pretty awesomely titled "Ballistic City."

The ambitious premise is set in a city contained within a spaceship that's headed to an unknown world, following a former cop who falls into the criminal underworld, in something that's described as a cross between "Blade Runner" and "Battlestar Galactica."

Right now, the show is in development with both Kosinski and Beacham executive producing, with the former to direct while the latter writes.

Manga génial, avec une mise en scène très cinématographique et un sens du twist incroyable, une narration exemplaire, idéale au format série TV (un peu la marque de fabrique de Naoki Urasawa d'ailleurs). Un de mes mangas préférés, profond, noir, psychologique. La news m'a fait mouiller mon calbute, si ça se fait je vais pleurer de joie. Urasawa + Del Toro = MINDFUCK TOTAL

Je préfère 20th Century Boys du même auteur, surtout que dans l'univers de Del Toro ça aurait été génial.

James Ellroy and New Regency are currently shopping a sequel series to "L.A. Confidential," but they aren't just looking for a pilot. According to Deadline, Ellroy -- who came up the concept on spec -- is likely for a straight series commitment. And this isn't the first time a series has been attempted. A spinoff show was developed in the wake of the success of the film. Kiefer Sutherland led the cast as Jack Vincennes, but it was a weak replica of the movie -- the pilot was included on the recent DVD/Blu-ray re-release -- and didn't get much further.

Corey Stoll (House of Cards) has landed the lead role in FX's pilot adaptation of Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's "The Strain."

Production on the vampire thriller is expected to begin in September, with FX placing high hopes on the pilot, which will be adapted by del Toro and Hogan, with del Toro directing.

Stoll will play Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, head of a Center for Disease Control task force charged with investigating a viral outbreak that bears a mighty suspicious resemblance to vampirism. The strain spreads and it's up to Goodweather and his team to save, well, humanity.
