LatinoReview a balancé le scoop : Marvel va annoncer au Comic-Con que l'autre film Marvel de 2014 (avec Captain America 2) sera Guardians of the Galaxy.



Gros trip cosmique donc, qui m'a l'air encore plus couillu que Thor ou Green Lantern. Et The Avengers.

Parce qu'évidemment, c'est pas innocent, la news révèle que Guardians of the Galaxy aura Thanos comme méchant et mènera directement à The Avengers 2.


Why is this exciting? Because this is where Marvel tries something really big. Something Green Lantern tried to do and failed - a big space opera story within superhero conventions. When I talked to Kevin Feige at the junket for The Avengers this summer he said that he felt the time was right to go cosmic, that there was a generation who was in charge whose movie love was tied into big space epics. This is Marvel staking their claim in that area.

The Guardians of the Galaxy are an interesting C-level group in the Marvel Universe. They are originally from the future; astronaut Vance Astro is the first human to head to Alpha Centauri, but when he wakes from his cryosleep (the trip takes a thousand years) he discovered humanity had beaten him, having invented faster than light travel two hundred years earlier. He also discovers an alien threat called the Badoon has been conquering and wiping out star systems. He teams up with a bunch of aliens who are the last of their respective races and battles the Badoon; along the way he discovers he has telekinetic powers and, for good measure finds Captain America's shield.

That's one version of the Guardians, who live in a technically alternate future Earth (called Earth 619). In the present Marvel Universe (Earth 616) there is Guardians of the Galaxy, inspired by the future Guardians (time hopping happens) and made up of many of the cosmic heavy hitters of the current Marvel roster.

According to Latino Review the movie will have the future Guardians traveling back to our time. They don't know the line-up of characters, but at the junket Feige told me to expect a mix of old and new characters. I'd almost guarantee Vance Astro, aka Major Victory, shows up - I think the idea of Captain America learning his legacy exists a thousand years in the future is too good to pass up. Feige all but confirmed that Rocket Raccoon (a space-faring raccoon inspired by a Beatles song) will be on the team, as will Groot, a weird extraterrestrial tree guy. At the very least he mentioned them as the characters that will be the most fun to introduce to audiences.

As for the rest of the team? Who knows. Drax the Destroyer is a character with a big hate-on for Thanos, so he makes sense. Adam Warlock was also a modern day Guardian, and he's a key player in the Infinity Gauntlet story, which seems to be all but certainly the foundation for The Avengers 2.

Très très couillu oui! Ça me semble incroyable de voir un truc pareil au ciné, un de mes fantasmes ultimes.

C'est tellement facile de se planter sur un univers pareil, il va falloir du niveau... J'ai hâte de voir ça!

Pfiou. C'est hyper excitant la direction que prend Marvel.

Par contre derrière un projet comme ça il faut obligatoirement un putain de réa avec une vision et pas un yes man, trop ambitieux bordel. Faut pas le foirer!

Ils vont en caler 3 sur une année ? Ant Man va encore être repoussé ? Black Panther était une fausse rumeur ?

Je pense qu'ils vont TENTER The Avengers 2 pour 2015 mais bon, ça m'étonnerait pas si ça finissait en 2016...

Ant-Man, je pense qu'il est prêt, j'imagine que Wright le tournera après The World's End mais du coup, il a le temps.
Black Panther est très probablement en développement au même titre que plein d'autres films plus ou moins annoncés (Dr. Strange, un film Nick Fury/SHIELD, etc.).

D'ailleurs, un autre film Marvel a été annoncé aujourd'hui et ce sera un film d'animation mais la BD adaptée est méconnue, ça s'appelle Big Hero 6. Ca fera sûrement pas partie de l'univers d'Avengers & Co.

A l'heure actuelle ça fait partie de leurs productions papier les plus bandantes, clairement. Et pour le choix des personnages à caler ça va être un vrai casse tête (et ça va couter bonbon en CGI aussi). Qui apparaitra? On aura droit à Star Lord, Dax le Destructeur, ou même Nova, Quasar, Captain Marvel ultra présents dans l'univers cosmique? Y a foule dans ces persos, et j'ai du mal à voir des acteurs correspondre.

Raaaaaaah vivement qu'on en sache plus, parce que pour l'instant c'est aussi excitant que flippant.

Exactement ce que je pensais. On m'aurait dit il y a 10 ans qu'il y aurait un film sur la panthère noire, l'homme fourmi, les gardiens de la galaxie ou même les vengeurs, j'aurai ri au nez de mon interlocuteur.

STAR LORD



Abilities: Half alien and half human, Peter Quill can fly, survive the pressures of space without a traditional space suit and has a limited healing factor (it is unclear how he gained these powers or if they are just from his current suit). At one time he had an implant in his left eye that let him see different energy spectrums and a memory chip that provides him with 100% recall (it's assumed these won't be in the film). He uses a number of weapons including a "meta-pistol" which fires one of the four elements (earth, air, fire and water). He also uses more conventional alien weaponry when necessary.
Lowdown: Potentially the only Earth-born member of the team, Star-Lord is also lock because of his unique powers, skill set and because his most recent costume and mask is begging to be recreated on the big screen. He's also the usual leader of the team and, well, a bad ass.


DRAX THE DESTROYER



Abilities: In his current comic book incarnation, super strength, limited invulnerability and a love of long knives. He's an expert hand-to-hand combatant.
Lowdown: Drax has an incredibly convoluted history that's going to be hard to explain on screen. Chances are, he'll be re-created for the movie with a much simpler origin so all bets on his background are off. However, he has always been cosmically tied to Thanos and his life mission is to kill the evil deity. That likely won't change.


GAMORA



Abilities: Stronger than a normal human being, Gamora is extremely agile and an expert fighter. She has a wide knowledge of almost every weapon in the galaxy and at times has had enhanced healing abilities. She's sort of a more powerful Black Widow, but with green skin.
Lowdown: The last survivor of an alien race, Gamora was adopted and raised by Thanos to become a supreme assassin. She later spurned her father and fought against him which makes her a perfect member for the "Guardians."


ROCKET RACCOON



Abilities: The strength, agility and sense of smell of an everyday Earth raccoon. Oh, and he's an expert marksman, starship pilot and hand to hand combatant (for a raccoon).
Lowdown: A lock to be in the movie, Rocket Raccoon is a tough talker from the planet Halfworld. He's loyal to his friends to the end and may a few intense psychological issues. His banter with buddy Groot make him pretty much a lock for the movie.


GROOT



Abilities: Groot has the power to control other trees, increases his mass (i.e, "sprout") and appears invulnerable to fire. He has also regenerated his entire body from just a small twig. Groot is known for just saying "I am Groot!" and nothing else. It's been conjectured that there are multiple meanings of that phrase depending on how and when Groot says it.
Lowdown: Seemingly another member of the team who is the last member of their race, Groot's abilities should not be underestimated. He's helped save the universe on numerous occasions. Rocket Raccoon is Groot's current BFF and the duo should be the comic relief of the big screen "Guardians."

Je sais pas comment ils vont réussir à appâter le chaland avec un truc aussi barré.
Et qui va jouer les mecs "humains"? Je connais pas la BD pour spéculer mais d'après ces images et ces descriptions, faudrait un mec badass en Star-Lord (Eric Bana? oui je rêve), un mec stockma en Drax (Dwayne Johnson? oui je rêve GRAVE), et une bombe/meuf vénéneuse en Gamora (Emily Blunt? elle a failli jouer Black Widow). Ils ont tout intérêt à prendre des stars pour une fois, pour essayer de vendre le film aux néophytes (aka 99% du public).
Avec le raton-laveur et l'arbre, ça fait des acteurs en moins mais des CGI en plus. Combien va coûter ce film?
Et qui pour le réaliser?
La scénariste est une nouvelle, aucun film encore produit, mais ils sont super contents du script.
