Entre la figure du père et le 11 septembre, le sujet me parle, le bouquin a bonne réputation, je mets 4/6 à Billy Elliott et The Hours, et le scénario est signé Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, The Insider, Munich, Benjamin Button), mais j'espère que le film sera plus fin que ne laisse suggérer cette bande-annonce...

Là je vois davantage le film que tout le monde prédit aux Oscars (chacun des trois films de Daldry a été nommé), même si personne ne l'a vu (après Sundance, Cannes, Venise et Toronto, y a toujours zéro favori cette année, les gens attendent encore celui-ci, War Horse et J. Edgar).

Director Doug Liman (Mr. & Mrs. Smith) recently had his sci-fi heist flick Luna put on hold, and he turned his attention to the sci-fi action movie All You Need Is Kill, but now he’s got a non sci-fi project on the horizon. Deadline reports that Liman is on board to direct Everest based on Jeffrey Archer’s book Paths of Glory with the screenplay written by Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air). The non-fiction novel chronicles British mountain-climber George Mallory’s three attempts to reach the top of Mount Everest.

Lose pour Luna...et j'espère que ce nouveau projet post-127 heures se fera pas avant All You Need is Kill, autrement plus bandant.

Warner Bros. is looking to the big leagues to helm their untitled Twilight Zone film. Variety reports that there is “mutual interest” between the studio and three filmmakers to take the reins: Christopher Nolan, Alfonso Cuaron, and Michael Bay. Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt is also in the mix, but the report states that Nolan, Cuaron, and Bay are the top picks.

Unlike the studio’s 1983 Twilight Zone, this new pic will have only one director, and WB is definitely looking to the A-list. Apparently Nolan is the front-runner to get the offer (which isn’t surprising given his very close relationship with the studio, and the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio is producing the Twilight Zone pic), but Variety’s sources are unsure as to whether he’ll actually sign on as the project is apparently similar to Inception.

Apparently Harry Potter David Yates was on the shortlist at one point as well, though his prospects have waned as of late. Continued after the jump.

Bay is apparently keen on the script, but may be hindered by the fact that he’s itching to get to Pain and Gain, the bodybuilding passion project that’s been in the works for a very long time.

Cuaron and Wyatt have the most favorable schedules, as Cuaron is close to wrapping Gravity and Wyatt has yet to commit to his Apes follow-up.

Jason Rothenberg penned the script, and while plot details are under wraps, sources say the film would be a single storyline that touches on several themes from the Rod Sterling TV show that ran from 1959-1964.

Raaah je sens qu'on va finir avec Wyatt...son Singes est bon mais bon...j'aurai été curieux de voir Bay dans ce registre (même si je le vois pas capable de créer de la tension et si c'est pour avoir un résultat proche des remakes qu'il produit, c'est pas la peine). Nolan et Cuaron m'ont l'air trop "je prends plus de films de commande" pour s'y atteler.

Mais putain quand je vois ces noms, je kifferai qu'ils reviennent à l'idée d'un film à plusieurs segments. Comme pour l'arlésienne d'un nouveau Métal Hurlant (avec Cameron, Snyder, Fincher...).
Un même film réunissant Nolan, Cuaron et Bay? Chef d'oeuvre.

en même temps, la version de 83 réunissait Spielberg, Landis, Dante et Miller et c'est tout sauf un chef d'oeuvre...

Marc Guggenheim, who was one of the scribes behind this summer’s Green Lantern, has been tapped by Disney to pen a rather unique time travel pic called Time Zones. The sci-fi fantasy adventure takes place in a world where a spontaneous event has caused different geographical regions of the Earth to be replaced with the topographical layout from differing time periods. In essence, it could be 1450 in England, 350 B.C. in Egypt, and 2154 in the United States. The story centers on a man who realizes that the sudden availability of time travel gives him the chance to change the past and prevent his wife’s death. He sets out on an adventure with his estranged daughter in tow to try to change the course of history.
