David Fincher et Gillian Flynn développeront une version US pour HBO. Je n'ai vu que 2 épisode de la série originale, et pour l'instant ça ne me passionne pas des masses, malgré la qualité de la réal. Sinon c'est très bien que Fincher continue de bosser sur des séries, mais s'il pouvait éviter de refaire tous le catalogue UK et nous apporter un projet original, ce serait encore mieux. |

D'un côté c'est cool (même si la série originale ne m'attire pas du tout) mais de l'autre ça l'éloigne encore plus de projets ciné potentiellement plus bandants... |

Sachant que Vingt mille lieues ne se fera pas, son seul projet connu c'est la suite de Millénium. Du coup une série HBO où il aurait un contrôle absolu c'est plus qu'intriguant. Le seul truc qui me faire peur c'est Gillian Flynn à l'écriture. |

Et sinon, la news d'aujourd'hui pour ce projet qui semblait avoir pris un backseat depuis que Fincher développait son autre série (au tournage récemment interrompu) : Rooney Mara is in talks to star.

Deadline reports that while more casting has happened, the green-light still has not been given for "Utopia" as the network and Fincher can't come to terms on a budget. The site seems to suggest that the prospects of reaching an agreement don't look good, and the show could be halted as a result. The plan was for Fincher to prep "Utopia," and then circle back to "Videosyncrazy," but it's unclear what exactly will happen at this juncture. Hopefully at least one of these shows come to pass. Lose. |

Si il pouvait se consacrer à une œuvre originale plutôt qu'en remaker une qui n'a pas besoin de l'être. |

There was no last-minute miracle for Utopia. I hear HBO and David Fincher were not rooney marafeoreable to reach a compromise on the size of the budget for the conspiracy thriller series. As a result, the cast of the project had been officially released by HBO. While never confirmed, I hear it included Rooney Mara, Colm Feore, Eric McCormack, Dallas Roberts and Jason Ritter. I hear they had been rehearsing for up to a month while budget negotiations were unraveling. HBO has the rights to Utopia, an adaptation of the British series, so Fincher cannot take the project elsewhere, like his House of Cards home Netflix. I hear HBO brass continue to be high on the project and may try continuing it with a new director. While the pay cable network also is said to be high on the cast, the actors have been released so a potential new director could make their decisions but the current cast members will likely be choices if available. hbologoI hear Fincher reached out to some of the actors a week ago to tell them that Utopia was over though official release by the network did not happen until late this week. It is unclear how the fallout with HBO on Utopia would affect Fincher’s other HBO project, 1980s comedy Videosynchrazy, whose production was halted for additional script work. Videosynchrazy également annulée, Shakedown (collaboration Fincher-Ellroy) aussi probablement. Fincher/HBO, l'amour fou. |
