They've been developing a new version, with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver scripting it. That's one of those totally logical moves considering "Rise Of The Planet of The Apes" managed to salvage a property that Fox had been frustrated by for decades.

Universal seems confident that the latest draft of the script cracked whatever problems they've been having, because they just set a release date for the film of June 13, 2014.

Cela dit, j'aimerai bien voir du sang neuf, voir un jeune réal s'y atteler (comme, justement, pour Rise of the Planet of the Apes).

For those who haven't seen Safety Not Guaranteed, it does NOT featuring anything even approaching awesome dinosaur action. Not that you need to make a dinosaur movie to make another dinosaur movie, but on the surface this is kind of like hiring the Little Miss Sunshine people to take on a Predator reboot.

I love it. Safety Not Guaranteed didn't charm me, but it wasn't horribly made either. Obviously something about Colin Trevorrow convinced Spielberg and all other involved parties that he was the man for the job, which indicates talents we don't yet know about. I'd rather have a curious choice like Colin Trevorrow than a safe one like Part 3's Joe Johnson.

It's still anyone's guess what's going on with Jurassic Park 4 story-wise or if any cast members are returning, but Rise of the Planet of the Apes writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have a script and the film already has a June 13, 2014 release date. The ball's really rolling now. I can't wait.

Jurassic Park 4 is reportedly still underway, and the hold is to make the production even bigger.

Creative differences have arisen, but the differences come from the studio wanting to make the picture bigger rather than slashing the budget:

"It is this “EPIC” demand by the studio however, which has lead to the current situation. It seems Universal wants to pull out all the stops and go above and beyond what they had initially set their goals to be."

JURASSIC PARK 4, set in present day Isla Nublar, is now an actual theme park, as originally intended by John Hammond in the first film. It garners 10 million visitors per year and is completely safe - until it's not. The park itself is described as very Sea World-esque and includes an area called the Isla Nublar Lagoon. That means underwater dino's for the first time. No indication of what kind, but there's concept art showing one of the aquatic dino's, as part of a show, jumping out of the lagoon and eating a strung up great white shark like it was a fish for a dolphin at sea world.

As part of a show, you ask? That's right, folks, this will feature "tamed" dino's. In fact, our source indicated that the usually menacing Velociraptors (which will finally be muzzled, along with the T-Rex - until they're not) will actually be used to help fight the threat, which begins in the form of a new dinosaur, not seen in any of the previous films (and not disclosed to us) shows to be much smarter than originally thought and is the main cause of havoc breaking out at the park.

So, to sum it all up, JURASSIC PARK 4 will take place back on Isla Nublar with a fully operational dinosaur theme park (I'm sure no expense was spared) that's both prosperous and safe, until a new dinosaur figures out a way to wreak havoc, causing the use of the now tamed Velociraptors (and T-Rex? Unclear) as a means to fighting the threat.

J'aime bien.
