In an interview with EW, the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright let slip that he’s currently “working on a new script for [Spielberg].” Kushner doesn’t elaborate any further on what the project is, only that he’s been working on it for “a couple of weeks.”

Ca tue.

Et hop, un poil plus d'infos :

In opening up about the subject matter slightly, Kushner adds, "It's based on an actual historical event. It's a complicated account of a very dense historical moment, and not one an audience is going to be very familiar with, so it presents a lot of challenges in terms of exposition. I'm sorting out how to be true to the complexities of history while telling a dramatically satisfying story."

My Lai? The Trial of the Chicago 7?

Jason Hall recently became quite the coveted screenwriter when his adaptation of American Sniper piqued the interest of both Bradley Cooper and Steven Spielberg, and now that Spielberg has committed to the project as his next film with Cooper in the lead role, Hall is setting up other future projects.

On that note, DreamWorks in early talks with Hall to write an adaptation of author David Finkel’s non-fiction book Thank You For Your Service. The book examines the profound effect that the recent wars have had on the men and women in the armed services, specifically examining the effects of PTSD.
Interestingly, Spielberg is apparently mulling over the possibility of reteaming with his Lincoln star Daniel Day-Lewis on the project.

The Spielberg talk is all early days, and it’s no secret that the director develops a number of projects at the same time, only to see a small portion of them come to fruition with him as the director. Spielberg is currently focused on making American Sniper his next film, and he’s also toying with Robopocalypse.

Warner Bros is closing a deal for It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life Of Love And War, a memoir by Lynsey Addario that has Steven Spielberg attached to direct and Jennifer Lawrence to star.

The memoir has been the hot title since it was excerpted by The New York Times Magazine, and there were no shortage of bidders for the life of a woman who goes into the most dangerous places in the world in search of truth.

Here’s who the bidders were: Working Title was angling to get it for Reese Witherspoon, Darren Aronofsky has been trying to get it for Natalie Portman, The Wolf Of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie was after it, and The Weinstein Company was bidding for George Clooney and Grant Heslov. The subject met with bidders and everyone was sold on her remarkable personal and professional life.

She is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists who went to Afghanistan during the post-9/11 invasion of Afghanistan and carved out a niche giving an identity to the victims of conflict. That includes how Afghans suffered during the Taliban regime, the Iraqi War, victims of genocide in Darfur, the rape of women in the Congo. Her work in dangerous locales included her being kidnapped by pro-Quaddafi forces in the Libyan civil war.

Faut voir.

http://www.thewrap.com/steven-spielberg ... reamworks/

J'attends toujours.
