Peut-être que c'est par maladresse, mais son cinéma semble tellement pensé qu'il excuse tout. Carpenter est par ailleurs moins intellectuel dans ses choix, et les erreurs ont l'air de vrais maladresses et vrai mollesse. Alors qu'il y a peut-être une part de choix. Faudrait s'entretenir avec ces deux grands fous pour le savoir. |

De toutes façons, j'ai déjà eu ce débat des dizaines de fois, je me suis fait moqué, vilipendé, méprisé, mais j'aime ce film, même quand les zombies qui ressemblent à des marionnettes de train fantôme courent au milieu d'un décor de carton pâte Mais attention, tout n'est pas pourri quand même, y'a plein de scènes bien foutues et qui montrent que Carpenter n'a rien perdu de son sens du cadre et de l'espace. Après, je vois aussi ce film comme une sorte de geste "je m'en foutiste" d'un type qui n'a plus rien à perdre ni à gagner. |

Allons donc, rien de mieux que cette sale ambiance nocturne de dépotoir digne d'une VHS des années 80 Après oui. Il y a des moments assez paresseux. Mais ça fait partie du charme de ce film. C'est ce que ça donne quand un vieux cow-boy désabusé prends les rênes d'un projet. En effet, cette impression de "je m'en foutisme" est assez prégnant dans le film. |

Les spots commencent à trop en montrer, si j'ai bien compris. "I do liken it to the blockbusters I grew up with as a kid. A lot of them by Spielberg. I don't like talking about Spielberg too much because he was the director on the project before me and I don't want to keep coming back to that, but the truth is, there's a great spirit to films like 'Close Encounters [Of The Third Kind]' and 'Jaws' that I really wanted to try and capture, because I haven't seen it in a very long time." "I mean, J.J. [Abrams] paid great homage to it in 'Super 8,' but it was a very literal homage. We're trying to do: 'What would that kind of film be now? Not in that period, as J.J. did, but now. It's been a really interesting challenge," Nolan added. "When you say you're making a family film, it has all these pejorative connotations that it'll be somehow soft. But when I was a kid, these were family films in the best sense, and they were as edgy and incisive and challenging as anything else on the blockbuster spectrum. I wanted to bring that back in some way." It's definitely a big challenge to try and make a "family movie" in an era when that usually means an animated film, or a tentpole tied to a toy or brand. But Nolan also realizes that the conversation around "Interstellar" can't happen without invoking the name of a certain Stanley Kubrick classic. "You can't pretend '2001' doesn't exist when you're making 'Interstellar,' " Nolan admits. "But the other film I'd have to point to is 'The Right Stuff.' I screened a print of it for the crew before we started, because that's a film that not enough people have seen on the big screen. It's an almost perfectly made film. It's one of the great American movies and people don't quite realize how great it is — probably because it's four hours long!" |

La projo de presse n'est toujours pas tombé, putain. Y a une avant-première au Grand Rex le 30 en présence de Nolan et une autre le même soir au Gaumont Marignan avec master class du réal (ou comment flinguer l'intérêt de l'AP au Rex). Sinon, moi je le vois en IMAX 70mm à Londres le vendredi 7

“I do not think Chris[topher Nolan] could have or would have made this film 12 years ago when we didn’t have kids,” the director's wife and producing partner Emma Thomas tells Entertainment Weekly. “Whenever I read that Chris’ films are ‘unemotional,’ I don’t agree, but I do find this one to be more emotional.” While "Interstellar" is likely proffering apocalyptic themes about humanity, Jessica Chastain says she unlocked the film's mystery via an unlikely source. “One day, I noticed this girl. She was really shy and sweet. I went up to her, and she told me her name. And she was Chris’ daughter,” Chastain recalled. “All of the clues fell into place. You had to be a little bit of a detective, and when I figured it out, I was incredibly moved: 'Interstellar' is a letter to his daughter.” And while Nolan won't come right out and say it, he suggests that in rewriting Jonah Nolan's script, among the many changes he made was switching Matthew McConaughey's character's child in the film from a boy to a girl. “For me, the whole movie is about what it means to be a dad,” Nolan said. And composer Hans Zimmer —who was commissioned to write music for the movie before Nolan even started writing— remembers a key passage in a letter he received from the director: “Once we become parents, we can’t help but look at ourselves through the eyes of our children.” Ce film va me faire pleurer MA RACE. |
