The studio is taking meetings with just about every writer in town trying to figure out where the hell to go next, as absolutely nobody has a vision for the thing. The fault, the report states, is Damon Lindelof's. When he came on to rewrite Jon Spaihts' draft of Prometheus he turned the film into the first chapter of a trilogy, but then he left the project. Probably, it seems, because he had no idea where the trilogy should go after the finale of the first one - something any fan of Lost can tell you was in the cards. Lindelof has strong concepts, but bringing them home has never been his strong suit. I know that Fox has been taking many, many meetings with screenwriters, and that screenwriters have been pretty much bringing in their own pitches, not working within an established frame. I actually don't think this is a bad thing. |

Confirmation indirecte : After working with Ridley Scott on a new “Blade Runner” movie, veteran scribe Michael Green has been hired to rewrite the untitled “Prometheus” sequel for 20th Century Fox. Jack Paglen (“Transcendence”) wrote the original draft of the screenplay. Multiple sources have told us that the “Untitled Ridley Scott Project” that 20th Century Fox announced it will release in March 2016 is “Prometheus 2,” although the film may not ultimately use that title. An insider told us that production is scheduled to start this fall, after Scott has delivered his Moses movie “Exodus” to Fox. “Prometheus” served as an ‘unofficial’ prequel to Scott's seminal 1979 sci-fi movie “Alien,” and the sequel that Green will write aims to be much more “alien-y” and in line with the terrifying tone of past films in the franchise. Additionally, the sequel is expected to feature multiple ‘David’ androids, which means there will be more than one Michael Fassbender on screen at the same time, according to an individual familiar with the project. 20th Century Fox had no comment regarding the film's plot details or title. Green was hired to write “Blade Runner” back in May 2013 and he is currently finishing a polish of the script. While Alcon and Scott Free are keen to start production on that project, the “Prometheus” sequel is in first position for Scott. The sequel has become a priority project at Fox, as the first film grossed more than $400 million worldwide. Green worked on “Smallville” and “Heroes” before he wrote “Green Lantern” for Warner Bros., which also hired him to pen “The Flash.” He's repped by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment and attorney Patti C. Felker. La carrière du mec rassure pas. Lindelof avait bossé sur des séries foireuses mais plus prestigieuses. On verra bien... je suis curieux de cette idée de plusieurs David. Il était le meilleur truc du premier film...mais s'il perd son côté "unique", ça risque d'être du gâchis. |

Cool encore un scénariste de merde (le premier qui fait une blague sur cartel je l'éclate), sérieux Scott il a pas mieux à disposition la...et pareil le côté multiple de David ne m'enchante guère... Enfin bon wait and see mais j'y crois pas du tout. |

Scott confirme que la suite de Prometheus sera son prochain film. Tournage en janvier a priori donc sortie probable à l'été 2017. |

C'est vraiment étrange comme projet, quand on y pense. Film qui n'a pas fait ses 130M$ de budget sur le sol US (mais 400 worldwide), film globalement pas aimé, film qui n'appelle pas (vraiment) à une suite étant donné qu'il y a déjà 4 (voire 6) films dans la franchise et bientôt un nouveau par Blomkamp... Pourquoi la Fox produit ça? Pourquoi Scott veut le faire? Il y tient visiblement vu qu'il a même abandonné la suite de Blade Runner pour celle-ci. Ça m'intrigue, du coup. |

Bizarrement je suis assez excité par le film et par le potentiel que promettait la fin du premier. Mais oui assez surpris que cette suite se fasse. Vu le backlash du précédent sur le scénario, peut-être que celui-là est absolument génial. |
