Marvel has their eye on a different actress for the role: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World star Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

In other Captain America 2 casting rumors, Marvel is currently looking to fill two “very physical” male roles that are assumed to be villains. LR hears that for one of the parts, Marvel is keen on either Lost actor Josh Holloway or Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster Waldau. They note that Kevin Durand (Cosmopolis, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) is also on the list, though he’s more of a fringe choice compared to Holloway or Waldau.

Physiquement, Teresa Palmer est la plus "proche" de la Sharon Carter de la BD. J'aurai presque aimé qu'il reprenne Hayley Atwell qui passerait de Peggy à Sharon... Que de troubles pour Cap !

Le film semble coller à l'arc écrit par Ed Brubaker.

Crossbones is a weird character, mainly because he's not that interesting. He's a thug, more or less, a glorified henchman. Usually for the Red Skull. Crossbones' biggest moment came when he 'assassinated' Captain America at the end of the Civil War crossover (I put 'assassinated' in quotes for a whole host of reasons). At that time he was sleeping with the Red Skull's daughter, Synthia Schmidt, aka Sin - this was all during the Winter Soldier storyline that re-introduced the previously-thought dead Bucky Barnes into the world as a Soviet-brainwashed super assassin (it's so confusing when explained like this).

ANYWAY. Crossbones, this thug, was sleeping with Sin during the storyline that brought Bucky back as the Winter Soldier. Recently there was a casting rumor that had Alison Brie and Emilia Clarke and a bunch of others up for a role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and everybody assumed it was Sharon Carter - niece to Cap's WWII girlfriend, SHIELD agent and current love of his life. But what if the character is Sin? What if instead of the Red Skull (since Hugo Weaving doesn't want to come back) we get the daughter of the Red Skull?

Speaking with Variety, Feige teased the genre of the upcoming Captain America sequel:

“There’s an opportunity to graft almost sub-genres onto [our superhero movies]. Our first Captain America film was a World War II picture, and the next is a political thriller. They all have their own textures and patinas, and that’s what is exciting about it.”

Robert Redford is the latest name to enter talks to star in Anthony and Joe Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He would play a high-ranking agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
