C'est une super idée, ce biopic, tfaçon. S'il garde son sérieux, Cohen pourra le faire avec classe. Juste une interrogation: quid de la VOIX? Le chant de Freddie est proprement inimitable... C'était encore bien passé avec Phoenix pour Cash, mais ici? J'ai hâte de voir le résultat final. |

Si Cohen ne sait pas chanter (j'en sais rien), ce sera du playback, c'est évident... (Avec Foxx en Ray Charles c'était assez concluant). |

According to Morgan, Cohen had been trying to persuade him to write a biopic on Mercury's life for over two years. Discussing the project during an interview today, Morgan said he'd consistently said "no." "I'd said to him, 'Look, it's a great idea and you're great casting for him, but I don't know the story.' And it took me that long to find what I was doing with it," Morgan says. And while he won't comment on what that in was, Morgan says he's currently deep in the writing process and "I am really loving writing it." Another reason this biopic is ready to go is because Mercury's former Queen band mates are finally allowing their parts of the story to be told onscreen. Morgan has made it clear Queen won't get a free ride for giving their O.K. "It's very much authorized and with their cooperation, but I've told them, 'I won't be particularly kind.' I'm only gonna do this if I have editorial independence," Morgan says. "I don't want anyone to feel this is a movie that Queen has commissioned." Morgan insinuated the Mercury biopic could be shot and ready for release within the next two years. |

En parlant de Peter Morgan, Brian May update le projet : Work is now fully under way for the much-vaunted feature film on the life of Freddie. Peter Morgan has delivered a first draft of the movie, which everyone is very excited about, and Sacha Baron Cohen is chomping at the bit to get into the role, in a way which certainly would delight Freddie ! The whole team now working on preparing for a shoot later this year, and a release in the late Autumn of 2012. Cool. |

Variety reports that Stephen Frears (The Queen) is the frontrunner to land the directing job, though negotiations have yet to begin. Apparently other filmmakers are still in the mix, but Frears “has the inside track.” In addition to more serious fare like The Queen and Dangerous Liasons, Frears also directed the excellent 2000 music-centered dramedy High Fidelity. Hit the jump for more. Producer Graham King revealed that it’s possible that Cohen might be singing Queen songs himself in the biopic. Peter Morgan (The Queen) wrote the latest draft of the script, and the story will follow Queen’s formation up through their famous appearance at Live Aid in 1985. The film will not, however, cover Mercury’s death in 1991 after battling AIDS. Bizarre. Cool pour Frears. Ce sera propre. |

Sinon c'est Andre 3000 qui a été officiellement choisi pour celui sur Hendrix. (oui je sais, wrong topic, mais Mercury était un grand fan !) |

Brian May re-update : “filming is now scheduled to start in the spring, with Sacha Baron Cohen playing Freddie. The film should be ready for release early in 2014.” |

Autant sur un truc comme Les Misérables il rassure, autant sur un biopic je pense qu'il peut être compétent. |
