Oui c'est bon ça fait 30 ans qu'on se tape les mêmes conneries sur la soi disant guimauve des films de Spielberg, et son sentimentalisme dégoulinant, on a compris. Spielberg n'est pas un cinéaste fait pour le cynisme, c'est un grand conteur universel et optimiste, et il arrive à provoquer l'émotion et l'adhésion de son public avec une facilité désarmante. |

Le film commence à être diffusé en avant-premières (plutôt qu'en projos de presse pour le moment) pour faire monter le buzz "public" et les échos sont globalement positifs. On retrouve des avis de spectateurs sur le net, Twitter notamment : - I’ll be giving a full review early tomorrow (I need to let this brilliant film sink in a bit more), but I am DEFINITELY giving it 5/5. Actually, I’ll go farther than that. This was a masterpiece. This should be one of the top 2-3 during Oscar season. All the hype we were hoping for was well-deserved. Outside of the first 30 minutes being a tad “eh,” the rest of the film is the best I’ve seen of Spielberg in years. Some of the greatest scenes I’ve seen in his career. I’m going to go as far as to say that it’s my second favorite Spielberg film after “Schindler’s List.” First chance you get, go see it. There should be quite a few ore screenings leading up to its late December release. A+++!! - Saw this movie a few hours ago in a pre screening.. It was really good and brilliantly made. I wouldn’t say its Spielberg’s best but it will get alot of Oscar attention. Its like 4-5 different stories wrapped up in a big long film. - Would def recommend War Horse to anyone who asks. Great movie, well worth the 2:20, never felt like it though. Very evenly paced. - An advanced screening tonight of Spielberg’s ‘War Horse’. Exceptional, truly. Do see it. - Just left special screening of “War Horse” It actually was a good movie. Kept my interest - Saw an advance screening of War Horse tonight. Very intense but very good. - The movie was FANTASTIC! War Horse was awesome. A must-see. - Just saw ADVANCE SCREENING of STEVEN Spielberg’s, WAR HORSE. This is a must see movie based in WW1. Avec quelques avis négatifs : - This was AWFUL. Nothing but Oscar bait. I’m very disappointed. - Am I the only person who basically hated War Horse? It was nothing more than manipulative and predictable Oscar bait. Move along… Et déjà deux critiques complètes sur Movie Vu et surtout AICN : What it comes down to is “War Horse” is as flawless a film as we’ve ever seen from the director. Seeing something as brutal, terrible, and human as war through the innocent eyes of a noble horse is an ambitious form of storytelling, and yet it completely comes off as honest and authentic. I cried. I cheered. I felt like little more than a marionette, controlled in body and soul. It’s odd. This isn’t the work of the Spielberg we’ve come to know in the last two decades. This is something new. Back to basics, as it were. It wears its emotions on its sleeve, and there is no place for cynicism in that world. It has obvious films like ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT and the films of John Ford and David Lean in its DNA, but the end result is all Steven Spielberg - WAR HORSE is an epic that has Spielberg doing what he does best. He takes the audience on an emotional journey through World War I and out the other side, and the film very much feels like Spielberg paying tribute to the filmmakers he loved as a young man. WAR HORSE is what you'd call an "old soul." It's a film that could have been made - perhaps not with the technology but definitely with the heart - in Hollywood's heyday. David Selznick would have adored WAR HORSE. () It's not a perfect film, but anyone who loves movies and Spielberg's work in particular really cannot miss this. WAR HORSE is what movies are all about - transporting the audience into a world that will never exist again. As for myself, I loved every moment.
