Announcement on the strike called for September 26th

In view of the general strike called for Wednesday 26th September, the management of the San Sebastian International Film Festival would like to announce that:

1.- It will, of course, respect the decision of its workers as to whether or not they decide to take part in the strike.

2.- Given the difficult economic situation affecting our society at the present time, the Festival wishes to demonstrate its support for those who are out of work and who find themselves in a difficult situation.

3.- Given the complexity of the situation, the Festival has decided not to screen films at any of its cinemas, except the Kursaal Auditorium and the K2. These cinemas will only offer screenings of films competing in the different sections and no events will be organised other than those that we can neither cancel nor change to another day. The Festival will also suspend all activities scheduled in spaces other than the Kursaal Centre. It will therefore close all Festival installations and services not housed in this building.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
